Terms & Conditions of Booking and Stay

About these terms

EcoWave Retreat is a small guesthouse on the inhabited local island of Muli, Meemu Atoll, Maldives. We operate in accordance with the laws and tourism regulations of the Republic of Maldives. By requesting a booking or staying with us, you agree to these terms and to our house rules.

Booking by request

• Bookings are made by request — a request holds your dates but is only confirmed after our team reviews availability.
• We confirm your booking by email or phone. No payment is taken online, and no card details are collected by the website.
• Maldivian nationals and resident-permit holders may book at local (MVR) rates.

Rates & taxes

• Room rates are quoted NET (++).
• A 17% Tourism Goods & Services Tax (TGST) and, where applicable, a 10% Service Charge are added.
• A Green Tax of USD 6 per guest, per night is collected and remitted to MIRA. Children under 2 years of age are exempt; Maldivian nationals and resident-permit holders are exempt.
• Meal plans (Bed & Breakfast, Half Board, Full Board) are charged per person, per night.
• Airport transfers from Velana International Airport, Malé (speedboat, domestic flight or seaplane) are arranged on request and charged separately, per person.

Deposit & payment

• A 30% deposit secures a confirmed booking and is applied toward your final bill.
• The deposit is payable after confirmation, by bank transfer, or on arrival where agreed in advance.
• Any outstanding balance is settled on or before departure.
• We accept cash, major credit cards, and bank transfers.

Cancellation & no-show

Free cancellation up to 14 days before arrival. Within 14 days the deposit is non-refundable.

If you do not arrive and have not cancelled, the equivalent of the first night's stay is charged.

Check-in & check-out

• Check-in begins at 2:00 PM; check-out is by 12:00 PM (noon).
• Early check-in and late check-out may be arranged subject to availability and may incur additional charges.

Guest registration

• All guests present a valid passport or national ID on arrival.
• Guest details are recorded in accordance with Maldivian tourism regulations. How we handle that information is described in our Privacy Policy.

During your stay

EcoWave Retreat is on an inhabited local island where community values are part of daily life. In short:

• Modest attire is appreciated in public areas of the island; swimwear may be worn at the designated bikini beach and on approved excursions.
• In accordance with Maldivian law, alcohol and pork products are not available or permitted on the island.
• All guest rooms are strictly non-smoking; quiet hours are observed between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM.
• Unregistered visitors are not permitted in guest rooms.

Liability & responsibility

• Guests are responsible for their personal belongings and valuables. EcoWave Retreat cannot accept liability for items lost, stolen, or left unattended.
• Participation in activities and excursions is at your own discretion and risk, and activities may be modified or cancelled due to weather or sea conditions.
• Guests may be charged for damage, loss, or excessive cleaning resulting from negligence or misuse of property.
